To Site or Not To Site.. That is the Question?

The pure bliss of newly engaged couples is addictive not only to friends and family, but to those who you may not have kept up with in some years. And when you first get engaged, the majority of couples turn to Facebook or Twitter to share in the news. You post pictures of the ring, the place, or perhaps you had a hidden photographer that caught the whole thing on camera!

Either way, you want to let the world know that soon you will become a Mrs. And what better way to do that then to create your very own website! By putting together a website you can keep anyone in the loop with wedding details, pictures, times, events, registries and so much more!

The Knot offers a FREE (let me repeat) FREE website builder which allows you do to exactly that! Here is an example Wedding Website where you can see all the cool features they offer.

Whether you use The Knot or another carrier, remember some important things to incorporate into your site:

  • Make it personal! Guests and friends want to see you as a couple. Post engagement pictures, talk about how you first met, and be yourselves! It will create an awesome atmosphere for what people will expect from your wedding day!
  • Use it wisely! You can put a lot of information on your website that is usable by your guests such as the location of the ceremony, where you're registered, and accommodations for out-of-town guests.
  • Update update update! As plans continue to roll make you sure you're updating your site so your guests are always in the know.
  • Show off your wedding party! Post pictures of your MOH, bridesmaids, flower girls, groomsmen, etc! Putting your closest friends and family in your bridal party is half the fun so show them off!
Take a look at some examples of wedding websites below!

Rustic Chic Wedding

Many couples today are going for a vintage and rustic feel for their nuptials. Whether your dream wedding is one outdoors in the countryside with a reception inside a party barn or a ceremony filled with wildflowers and flowing dresses, rustic chic is hitting the wedding circuit by storm!

Here are some ideas about how to incorporate this "rustic chic" feel into your wedding!

Lets start with flowers:

DON'T UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF BABIES BREATH! This small delicate flower is beautiful, simple, and best of all budget friendly! Adding in stems of other colorful flowers to give it a pop makes it that much better. Try looking at flowers that go with your color theme.

How about centerpieces:

Centerpieces are a huge staple in any reception, so make them personal! To keep in the rustic setting use things like old Coke bottles, antique tins, milk jugs and handkerchiefs. Not only is it fun to look at for your guests, but a lot of these items can be found for a reasonable price around town. Try looking at garage sales, antique stores, and sifting through your grandparents house! You can find lots of hidden treasures there.

Dresses anyone?

Lets be honest. Not every woman is the same, and not every woman will look good in the same dress. Putting bridesmaids in different dresses to fit their body types not only makes the aesthetics better, but it makes your ladies feel comfortable and confident! These dresses from the Bronson wedding we put together in May 2013 are from AmoursansAnguish. They specialize in making eco-friendly garments. Check out their Etsy page by clicking the link above!
